And I suddenly feel a little bad for this Obsidian fellow. It would be hard growing up knowing that your own brothers probably want you dead, so that they can get closer to the throne. ... Am I supposed to?
I think antagonists in a story are more interesting if you understand where they're coming from. Obsidian doesn't believe his actions are wrong. And he thinks that his family is out to take away his rightful throne.
If you feel sorry for Obsidian, I think that's perfectly understandable.
So Ob-Gyn is supposed to be the antagonist? ... Curious. And what of the annoying, meddlesome little brother? ...... Is this gonna be like the 80s cartoons again, where I'm always rooting for "the bad guys" because "the good guys" are obnoxiously dumb and self-righteous?
I mean can't the dude just hang out in the emptiest pub in peace? It really is a cavernous expanse of emptiness.
