Incidentally though... this is technically a violation of sacred hospitality (which Witches tend to take seriously). While the whole thing about owing a debt might hold true if he wasn't being held there, the fact that he can't escape (and made an attempt to do so) effectively changes his status from "guest" to "prisoner"... and the rules change (including the debt).
Ob-Gyn would know this, but I expect Gooby is too much the fool to have realised it.
