Whelp, at least the daughter recognizes that his promise to marry her might not be kept.

I think Godmother is talking about another person, Bellissima's true fiance, and not Peridot, with whom she is willing to make due. He might also be that dwarf she spoke about before?

The impression I'm getting is that Bellissima's fiance is someone we have not yet met, who presumably knew her from before she fell under the curse. Some kind of mystical creature who she loathes and is obviously not keen on her, as he left her asleep all that time.

It seems poor Peridot may have to become Bellissima's hero, whether either of them want him to or not! (Although I wouldn't put it past her to rescue herself. If ever a princess was self reliant, it's this one).

Well, that's not ominous at all.

I predict a sudden quest to find Bellissima's magically-enforced betrothed within the next five days.

Though if it's actually magic-related, shouldn't Fox have known about it already? Maybe he didn't think to look. Though it certainly makes his job of having her not marry Peridot easier...
